S003 Red - (Gloss) Spray

Mr.Color Spray - gloss red (Gunze / Mr.Hobby), 40 ml

A lacquer spray (aerosol) from the Japanese brand Gunze Mr.Hobby with a volume of 40 ml, in a saturated gloss red. It is a lacquer ready for immediate application which needs neither an airbrush nor a compressor - ideal for anyone who does not own an airbrush, and for covering areas quickly and for base coats. Count on red being one of the poorer covering shades: over a light base it shows through pink, so it needs more coats and preferably a light primer.

Use

• Because it covers less well, spray it over a light base (a white surfacer) and in thin coats - the color then holds a clean saturated red.
• Shake it for 1 to 2 minutes first (there is a mixing ball inside), otherwise the spray delivers thinly and unevenly.
• Keep a distance of roughly 20 to 30 cm and do not hurry; a heavy coat runs and creates orange peel.
• Work in warm, dry conditions - cold and damp leave a milky haze on the finish.
• Lacquer attacks plastic - be careful on clear canopies and thin parts, and test on a hidden area first.

Who it is for

For models of car bodies, sports and racing cars, fire service vehicles and red markings. The gloss surface is at the same time a good base under decals, so the markings settle without silvering. A white surfacer as a base and a clear coat for final protection go well with it.

Lacquer fumes - spray only in a well-ventilated area and with a respirator. The aerosol is flammable, so keep it away from flame and heat. A spray does not suit fine detail, but it does suit areas.
