This is a small accessory, not a model of a weapon: a set of 155 mm artillery ammunition in 1:72 scale. The maker is the Ukrainian brand Spalah, which 3D-prints its parts from photopolymer resin. Ammunition like this belongs at the firing positions of heavy howitzers, with ammunition vehicles and in a heap beside a self-propelled gun. Printing captures the tapering outline of the projectile and the rim of the cartridge case better than injection-molded plastic could at a small scale.
155 mm is today the standard caliber of the heavy artillery of the North Atlantic Alliance states, used by towed and self-propelled artillery alike. Against the lighter 105 mm caliber it gives considerably more effect on target and greater range, at the cost of heavier ammunition and slower handling. A single round weighs tens of kilograms, which is why it is stacked in piles at artillery positions and carried by the crew in pairs.
Wash the print resin residue off the parts, cut the print supports away and sand the marks with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the cartridge case in a metallic shade, the projectile olive or dark green, and pick out the colored bands. Particular markings cannot be painted at this scale; depth comes from a dark wash into the joints and a dry brush on the edges.
This is an accessory, not a kit. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
