The Flyhawk photo-etched set for the external electrical runs of Japanese ships in 1:350 scale adds the fine outboard cable runs of the second series.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a ship kit but a photo-etched detail accessory. The set of the second series holds brass photo-etched parts representing the outboard electrical wiring and the cable runs led along the superstructures and decks of warships of the Imperial Japanese Navy. These thin runs are usually missing from plastic kits, and adding them markedly raises the fidelity of a model in 1:350 scale.
The warships of the Imperial Japanese Navy had cable runs and electrical wiring led along the outer walls of their superstructures to the searchlights, the rangefinders and the gunnery positions. It is exactly these small but visually important features that the set captures and makes it possible to reproduce faithfully.
Separate the parts with a scalpel on a hard surface and bend them to the drawing where needed. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue straight onto the surface of the superstructures. It is best to place the runs before the superstructures are finally closed up. Once glued, degrease the parts, go over them with primer and paint them in the shade of the surrounding structure.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue, paints and other parts are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
