The Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 was built for long races: a large naturally aspirated V8 at the front, the gearbox at the rear axle and a body widened compared with the road SLS AMG coupe. It was precisely in endurance events that the advantage of simple and durable engineering showed, because the order was often decided by pit stops and by reliability. The twenty-four-hour race at the Nürburgring, run on the long northern circuit, is in this respect among the most demanding events of all.
The decals cover the cars with race numbers 22 and 23, as the manufacturer ties them to the Rowe team and to the race at the Nürburgring in 2014. The printing matches the parts of the Fujimi Mercedes SLS kit in 1:24 scale. The color scheme of the body is sprayed beforehand, the decals carry the artwork, the numbers and the lettering.
These are wet decals. The clear coat on the body has to be dried and glossy, otherwise the edges of the film give themselves away. Cut the artwork one piece at a time close to the printing, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until the film releases from the paper. On the model press the water out with a soft cloth from the center outward, use softener over edges and recesses and let the decal dry undisturbed. Secure it with a coat at the end.
