Gauge Neutral grass tufts autumn 10 mm / 50 pc

HEKI Grass Tufts, Autumn 10 mm, 50 pcs

Fifty individual grass tufts from the German maker HEKI, ten millimeters tall, in autumn coloring. Tall dry grass is very rewarding on a model, because it carries two signals at once: it reveals the season and at the same time says that nobody looks after the area. It is combinations like this that make a landscape believable without anything further having to be built.

Use

• tall dry grass on grassy strips between fields and stubble fields
• overgrown ditches and abandoned ground
• tufts at the footings of posts and bridge piers
• winter scenes without snow and a base under snow
• disused tracks and neglected yards
• dry grass around derelict buildings and ruins

How to work with the tufts

The tufts are not self-adhesive; they are fixed with modeling glue, ideally a flock adhesive or PVA glue. Apply a drop of glue to the base and seat the tuft in it with tweezers. Put dry tufts where water would not hold, that is, on ridges, at the edges of paved surfaces and at the foot of walls. Leave the grass green in the hollows, as this difference will help the scene more than recoloring the whole area uniformly.

Who the set is for

For builders of autumn and winter layouts and dioramas and for modelers who want to suggest a neglected area. Fifty tufts cover several neglected spots, so the neglect can be repeated within the scene and then reads as intent rather than chance. This is modeling material, not a toy. The manufacturer marks its scenery products as unsuitable for children under fifteen.
