Grass Mat Autumn Colours (100 x 200 cm)

HEKI grass mat, autumn colors, 100 x 200 cm

This is not a model or a kit but a finished grass surface. A firm special paper carries upright fibers in a dense growth, and the coloring brings together the dried-out yellow, ocher and remaining green of late autumn. The 100 x 200 cm format gives 2 m² according to the manufacturer, the middle one of the sizes offered: it covers a larger diorama with room to spare, while a layout has to be joined up. The mat is not tied to a single scale; the manufacturer lists it for the H0, TT, N and Z sizes.

Use

• autumn landscape, stubble after the harvest, field boundary strips, embankments and forest edges
• on a flat board it is cut and then glued like wallpaper with wallpaper, spray or general-purpose adhesive
• slopes and hills come about by reshaping it over paper balls or over a framework of strips and cardboard
• you get a broken surface by crumpling the mat, unfolding it and only then gluing it down
• roads, streams and track beds are scraped out with a spatula after damping the surface and repainted with acrylic once dry

Who it is for

For modelers who want an autumn surface without flocking by hand, and for diorama builders for whom the smallest format is not enough and the largest would be left over. The coloring suits scenes from the end of the year, agricultural machinery after the harvest and military scenes from the muddy season alike. Variants in light and dark green exist in the same format, so an autumn surface can be joined to a summer one with no noticeable seam.

Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
