An injection-molded plastic kit from Hobby Boss captures the German amphibious tractor Land-Wasser-Schlepper in 1:35 scale. The set offers a broken-up hull and deck, a pair of propellers with rudders, tracked running gear, separately molded tools and hatches, a photo-etched part for the deck grille, a mask for the windows and detail in the cab with the driver position.
The Land-Wasser-Schlepper was an amphibious tractor developed in Germany from the second half of the 1930s. It was to carry troops and cargo between a ship and the shore and could move on land as well as on water. Only a small number of examples were built, and they were used on the Eastern Front and in North Africa.
It is recommended to assemble and fine-tune the running gear before closing the hull. Use thin cement on the plastic, treat the surface with a primer and apply the shades with an airbrush. The amphibious character of the vehicle invites a patina with mud and water marks made with washes and pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
