This resin set in 1:35 scale contains applique armor plates for a model of the German Panzer IV tank in the Ausf. F and G versions in the form for the North African theater. It is an accessory for a finished model, not a kit. The castings have raised surface texture and fittings, so once painted they look like real plates laid on and not like smooth boards.
The Panzer IV was a German medium tank that went through the whole war and grew steadily stronger in armor and armament. The Ausf. F and G versions were already receiving a longer gun and heavier frontal armor, and in North Africa further plates were added to them. They served to strengthen the protection at the most exposed places and at the same time helped against the sun and the heated metal. A vehicle with them has a strikingly different silhouette from a machine in European form.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent and remove the mold release agent. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw, true the surface with a file and sand with respiratory protection. Resin is bonded with super glue, that is, with cyanoacrylate. Before gluing, offer the parts up dry and check that they do not clash with the tools and fittings on the hull. The desert shade comes out well when you lighten it on the flat areas after the base and add scuffs on the edges.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
