The SH-60B Seahawk is a shipborne helicopter of the US Navy derived from the H-60 family. It serves from the decks of frigates and destroyers, where it has a hangar and a landing platform of its own, and its task is to hunt submarines and to watch surface targets. Folding rotor blades and a folding tail boom alike allow it to fit into a ship's hangar. The cabin is the workplace of three people and holds considerably more instruments and panels than the land-based machine of the same family.
Colored interior pieces made by 3D printing, in 1:35 scale and in a form for the kit from the Kitty Hawk company. The pieces have a raised relief, so the instrument panels and the panels do not come across as a flat print, and the colors are printed on straight away.
The pieces of the QD series are printed on decal backing paper and have no adhesive layer of their own. Cut the piece out of the sheet, dip it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the paper into place. It holds on gloss varnish, so paint the surface under it, let it dry and go over it with a varnish of the Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22 type; on an intricate surface a drop of super glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as they attack the printed resin. Work with fine-tipped tweezers and seat the piece on the first attempt. Finish the interior before you close the fuselage and fit the glazing of the cabin.
For builders of helicopters in 1:35 scale who want the cabin finished without laborious painting of the small instruments. The kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
