HäT 8041 French fusiliers of the line infantry is a 1:72 set with forty-eight figures in field dress of the period after 1812.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale with forty-eight figures of French line infantry. It captures the appearance after 1812, that is, after the introduction of the new cut of coat, and in field rather than parade dress. It is supplied unpainted and is one of the most basic building blocks of any French formation.
The fusiliers were the ordinary rifle companies of a line regiment, that is, the part of the army that made up the overwhelming majority of French infantry. After 1812 they received a shorter coat with closed lapels, which was easier to make and held warmth better, and a shako with simpler ornament. It was in this dress that the French army went through the campaigns of 1813 to 1815, and this is how the soldiers who stood at Leipzig and at Waterloo looked. Parade trim was not worn in the field, so the field appearance is the right one for a model formation.
With forty-eight figures it pays to work in waves: undercoat the whole batch first, then lay the blue coat and the white trousers down uniformly, and only at the end add the faces, the straps and the facings. Build the blue up in layers over a gray base. Do the white straps in two passes, so that the blue does not show through.
The figures are supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and bases are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
