A supplementary set for a Type VII submarine in 1:72 scale on the theme of loading supplies at sea.
Responsibility details are not available.
A submarine on a long patrol lived off the supplies that had to fit inside it, and topping the load up away from port was one of the most demanding moments of a voyage. The crew worked on a narrow deck, often with the boat rolling, and every crate and barrel was passed into the hull by hand through an opening they barely went through.
The set develops exactly this scene: loading supplies at sea on a Type VII submarine in 1:72 scale. It is a subject for modelers who do not want merely a built model but a scene with action, because a submarine on its own reads as static and it is the work on deck that gives it scale and life. What the package holds exactly and how the parts are seated is given in the manufacturer's instructions; before buying, also compare the scale and the version of the submarine with your own kit.
First lay the parts out dry and photograph the scene, and only then glue them. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest down. Wash and degrease the surface before painting. Paint and dirty the cargo separately, off the model, and seat it only at the end. The water surface around the hull is best done after everything else is finished, so that nothing is trodden into it.
The set is for modelers with experience of dioramas and for anyone who wants to show a submarine in action rather than on a base. It also suits someone who is still planning a scene and looking for a subject that reads clearly. The submarine kit is not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
