This injection-molded plastic kit from Airfix captures the American M3 Half-Track armored personnel carrier in 1:76 scale. It is a set from the range of classic models; it holds around fifty parts in gray plastic and suits less experienced builders as well. The model also fits a railway setting and smaller dioramas.
The M3 Half-Track grew out of a wheeled scout car and became one of the most widespread half-track vehicles of the Allies. It served as an infantry carrier and as the basis for a whole range of derived versions. During the war American factories built tens of thousands of them.
The smaller 1:76 scale makes the build easier, but it rewards careful cleaning up of the parting lines. Finish the track run and the wheels before closing the hull up. Use a thin cement for plastic and a fine primer; lay the olive green on with an airbrush or a brush and bring the surface to life with a dry brush and a restrained wash into the recesses.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
