Groundcover Dark Brown 40 g

Scatter material, dark brown, 40 g

A bag of fine scatter granulate in a dark brown shade weighing forty grams. The material is made on a wood basis and serves to finish off fields, forest floor and places without vegetation.

Where dark brown works

Best where the soil is to be damp or freshly worked: a plowed strip of field, furrows, the ground around a manure heap, muddy banks and forest litter under the crowns. The difference between light and dark brown is large in a scene, because the light one reads as dry and the dark one as damp. When both are used side by side, the landscape gains a story at once: where there is shade and water, it is dark.

How to work with the scatter

• Coat the area with PVA glue and sift the scatter on through a sieve
• Work in smaller areas so that the glue does not dry
• Put dark brown into hollows and next to shadows
• Once dry, sweep the excess off with a soft brush and use it again
• Mix the shades with each other, as the manufacturer expressly allows for it

Who it is for

For layout builders of all gauges and for diorama modelers. The manufacturer is a German company specializing in scenery accessories, and production takes place in Germany. Safety note: this is a fine loose material that does not belong in the hands of the smallest children; do not breathe in the dust while working and keep the room ventilated. Keep leftover material in a closed bag, otherwise it takes up damp and cakes into lumps when scattered. Damp scatter spreads less well and leaves clumps behind.
