This is not an airplane model but a resin detail set of exhaust nozzles from Aires. The parts replace the simplified nozzles from the kit with a faithful rendering of the nozzles in the spread, that is the open position, which matches an engine running in afterburner. It is made for the twin-engine F-14D Tomcat in 1:72 scale from the Tamiya kit.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was a two-seat carrier-based fighter with a variable-geometry wing. The F-14D version was the most modern variant, with new engines and avionics. Open nozzles match an aircraft on takeoff or at full thrust, which makes a rewarding diorama element.
Wash the parts free of release agent, cut off the casting blocks and clean up the mating surfaces. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the inside of the nozzles in metallic shades and add light soot for a faithful effect.
Made for the F-14D plastic kit in 1:72 scale, the Tamiya one; that kit is not included in the package.
