U-Boot VII - rear torpedo loading hatch 1:72 (CMK)

This resin detail accessory is NOT a model of a submarine but an accessory for a plastic kit of the German Type VII submarine in 1:72 scale. It faithfully captures the rear deck hatch through which torpedoes were lowered into the hull. It makes it possible to show the hatch in the open position and so to add a realistic detail to the rear part of the deck.

What the set is for

An open loading hatch brings a model to life and is ideal for dioramas with torpedo handling. A basic kit usually offers the hatch only in its closed form, while this accessory adds a finer and openable version.

Building and painting tips

Wash the mold release off the resin parts, carefully cut off the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Bring out the details with a wash and give the deck a light patina.
