1:32 Red jerseys (3 pcs) with AERO 21A transport trolley for Mk.84 family bombs is a printed set of three figures of carrier deck ordnancemen and a transport trolley for bombs.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set made by 3D printing for dioramas from the deck of American aircraft carriers in 1:32 scale. It contains three figures of ordnancemen in red jerseys and a transport trolley of the AERO 21A series, with which aircraft bombs of the Mk.84 family are brought up to the aircraft. Printing can manage the folds of the clothing, the protective gear and the small parts of the trolley's running gear without a parting line. The set is not a model of an aircraft; these are figures and equipment for a scene.
The color of a jersey has an exact meaning on the deck of an aircraft carrier. Red belongs to the ordnancemen and the crash and salvage crews, that is, to the people who handle munitions and fight fires. It is they who bring bombs and missiles up to the aircraft on trolleys and load them onto the pylons. A bomb of the Mk.84 family is the heaviest of the usual range of aircraft bombs, so it cannot be handled without a trolley and a hydraulic lift. A scene with a trolley and a crew is therefore an everyday sight on deck.
The printed parts are held on thin supports. Snip them off close to the figure and level the face with a scalpel. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer before painting. Spray the jerseys in a saturated red over a light base, or the shade will go dark. Leave the faces for last and build them up in layers from shadow to light.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
