The most famous German fighter pilot of the First World War in the form of a large figure. The large-format casting of the Red Baron from Royal Model is meant for careful painting and for a display case, not for gluing onto a model of an aircraft. He came from a Silesian noble family and from his youth he was a passionate hunter. He carried that passion into the air as well, where he had a silver cup made for every victory. For his successes he received the order Pour le Merite, nicknamed the Blue Max for its blue enamel. In July 1917 he suffered a hit to the head whose aftereffects troubled him to the end. He flew Albatros machines and finally the Fokker triplane, with which his name is most often connected. He also wrote a volume of memoirs of his own, which made him a star of home propaganda during the war.
A size of 75 mm allows even the small things to be drawn out, so it pays to work in layers: first the overall tone, then shadows into the folds of the leather flying suit and finally sharp light on the edges. A fur collar comes out well with a dry brush. Leave the decoration at the throat for the very end so that it does not get dirty during the work.
