DSPIAE SP-ES12 abrasive papers for flat heads, 1200 grit

Five self-adhesive abrasive papers cut for the flat sanding heads of the electric reciprocating sander. A flat head holds a true face, so it will not sand a hollow into a panel or a side and an edge stays sharp. The 1200 grit is the finest in the range and it practically removes no material, it only smooths away the marks left by the previous step.

When to reach for them

At the very end of the procedure, once the shape is finished. It pays off above all before a gloss coat and metallic paint, where an unsmoothed scratch would stand out. On a flat face every flaw is also more readable than on a curve, because the reflection of the light is not broken up.

How to work with them

• Clean the head before sticking the paper on; it will not hold on dust.
• Work without pressure and always with the whole face of the head, otherwise the edge will cut a scratch.
• Clean the part before this step, as a grain from a coarser paper will make a scratch.
• Replace a clogged paper; a blocked abrasive burnishes the surface instead of cutting it.
• Check the result under a raking side light.

Who they are for

The refill is for owners of the electric reciprocating sander with flat heads who are finishing flat panels, sides and covers. The sander and the sanding heads are not included in the package, nor are the papers for round heads, which have a shape of their own.

Do not breathe in the sanding dust from plastic and resin; work with extraction or at least with a respirator.
